The bright side of the div cut     20-Dec-08 05:27 pm
I was not ready for the severe div cut which DVM just gave me for Christmas. However, I do think the fund hold quality companies and I like the strategy. 30% reits 20% utilities and 50% large cap with options sold against 20% of them. These are ballpark and may vary today by a few %. The div on NAV is only 6.4. This is clearly a sustainable div with the mix they have and the option action. We should be able to count on this going forward and possibly some nice year end capital gains or specials. I think we hit the basement for DVM as an income provider and going forward should be better. At least management bit the bullit and took us down far enough so we shouldn't have to have this happen again.
