I learned something today that I must share with all of you. If you own any stock in CVBT, please read this, because you may be unknowingly and unintentionally helping the short sellers hurt CVBT.

If you have a margin account with your broker, unless you specifically indicate to your broker otherwise, your broker may be providing the short sellers with your shares to cover their shorting activity. When a short-seller sells a stock, they are legally required to have arranged to “borrow” actual shares from another shareholder, to cover their short. Where are those shares coming from? They could be coming from YOU.

Please, call your brokerage firm today, and inquire if they are using any of the shares that *you* own, to lend to short-sellers (which they do for a small fee—which you probably do not receive any portion of but I’m not sure about this). If your broker is doing this, tell them that you no longer are willing to allow this. Follow up it in writing with a letter.

It has been rumored that a lot of the shorting is being done “naked,” i.e. without any actual stock backing it up. This is supposed to be against the law, and I understand there is a crackdown brewing on this activity. However, let’s all make sure that none of us are unknowingly providing our own shares to shorters, who I would argue are working against the long-term interests of CVBT’s shareholders.
