Craps, while you're on this reading kick .................

How bout taking a look at Figure 8 in this USC report which shows that a carbon/fiber composite core loses about 40% of it's strength after about 4 years. It's the graph showing the NASA sponsored research by Dr. George Matzkanin. Look at the purple squares as they precipitously fall off after only a few hours of testing.

I guess Dr. Nutt who headed up the research for USC was a little concerned as well when he commented that..........

"Future research will be looking at new resin systems to increase thermal stability of the core, along with qualifying new carbon and glass fibers to strengthen and increase the fatigue life of the core....."

Now remember, they were using the present day accc by CTC.

And Dr. Nutt apparently believes that further research is needed to come up with a better core. Sounds to me like he's not too happy with the present accc product.

Ya reckon Dr. Nutt is also concerned with what would happen to this accc after say 5 years, swinging in the breeze?

Oh, I'm sure you'll just chalk Dr.Nutt as another "Yahoo" or "Rinky-Dink" looking for his next meal,eh?

But wait, this research was funded by CPTC to the tune of over a Half Million Dollars!!!
