This is the only message board that takes all it's time talking about hoopla and whatifs.
Right now, something of high importance to the industry that is totally missed on this board is the fact that WalMart is now selling caskets. If you go to the SCI message board, they are discussing this and other points of real interest to the industry community. CSV, like other large corporate funeral types, are typically higher priced in their roof tops than the local providers and small corporations. How do they intend to handle competing with WalMart for the casket business? How are they going to handle losing their #1 revenue producer in their rooftops if they do nothing to react to this threat? I remember an exec back in the day that said he would close the doors before he ever lowered his prices. That play is still in, that exec is still there, and they are still the highest priced rooftop in that area. By upwards of $3600 per funeral. Mandi, you spout the best management team in the profession. So if you really believe this, answer the question as to how they intend to combat this new challenge. Try answering this one without your cheerleading and pie in the sky drival. Rating :
