Apparently, the CSI presentation at the William Blair Conference last week did not impress Wall Street. Very little reaction in the way of increased volume or price improvement in the stock price. Now, 9 months after "going public" via the reverse merger with Replidyne, the stock price has not improved.

The Street will be focusing on Q1 Diamondback Atherectomy sales to see if the flat numbers seen last quarter (sequential quarter over quater) continued this quarter. If that happens, the stock price will not improve. Sales of guide wires and long balloons, both "distribution products" (with low margins to CSI) will do little to help this "story stock" unless Atherectomy sales can resume growing sequentially, quater to quarter.

The distribution products may help "spread the overhead" and lower the loss (quater to quarter) but they will never be significant enough to turn this company profitable. Only strong, sequential growth of Diamondback Atherectomy sales could do that, and that seems unlikely in the next 12 months. Any improvement which might come via new clinical trial results or gaining a Coronary PMA approval in the U.S. are likely "years away", if ever.
