Mold in Studios... not in CEO's office      8-Sep-09 01:46 pm
It has been over 4 years since I have been an employee at CPI Corp. I recently visited a studio that I attempted to rectify the mold conditions in back in 2005. The quantity of mold infesting the studio is so severe that backdrops are moldy, sales floor is covered in mold and camera room floors are saturated in mold. Not only are the employees becoming ill from the mold, but the customers are being affected as well.
Why is CPI so cautious about putting pressure on SEARS ? I would be curious to see if Mold is a part of our Lease Exclusions ? Who is the true source of blame ? Is it Sears or is it CPI ? Employees are now contacting me, a past employee , for advice because NO ONE ELSE has cared enough to take action. One district manager stated to a sick employee " If your studio performed better maybe Sears would fix your studio ". Employees are fearful of losing their jobs because they have been told they are making waves. This is an issue of public health and safety. Will it take the involvement of an Environmental Protection Attorney before these studios are repaired ? How many other studios across America are being neglected ? How many employees and customers will become ill from these damp and moldy conditions ?
