The performance of this bank has been abyssmal. It is run by a sleazy family which created a special stock category (not easily detected when doing "due diligence" here) to allow themselves multiple voting rights and the ability to control everything with only a small proportion of actual ownership. The operation here has been miserable. There are upwards of 20 family members on the payroll and there actually be more. The situation has long been criticized by the Massachusetts Attorney General, both Boston papers and a couple of the funds which own chunks of it. They also have a board of directors composed of several of the worst publicity hounds and self-promoters in Boston. One of them, Case of Wellesley College and the "Case-Schiller" nationally-known home sales index, finally quit (conveniently citing poor health) when it apparently finally dawned on him what a bunch of incompetents and greedy pigs with whom he was associating and that it was hurting his professorial "image". It is indeed a shame that such a sleazy, incompetent bunch can get away with having perpetuated such a travesty on its stockholders for so long.
