Forget all this crap that Comverse cannot add up its revenue and issue an earnings report. The truth is IMHO that Comverse was deliberately withholding earnings because from 2001-2007 it was involved in a bribery scheme with top level United State government officials; at least this is what I can extrapolate from its recent SEC disclosure. Given this, it is no wonder Comverse has been tight-lipped since November 2007... It apparently was their accountants who realized this. Probably it was something that Kobi Alexander was involved in but uncovered during the audit. Comverse may have felt it could not disclose earnings because of the bribery. So what did they do? Well they waited for a new administartion,i.e., Obama, because the bribery would have taken place under teh Bush years. So which high level US Official were involved? Maybe it doesn't matter so much for Comverse shareholders. The bottom line is that this is coming to an end as Comverse is working with the DOJ and fully cooperating. We should start seeing results soon; such as an announcement of an earnings release date. Also, I suspect that a takeover of Comverse, which has been long rumored can only occur after this bribing matter is resolved. I think we can go back to $12.00 - $14.00 per share in a flash!
