Yeah, I noticed. The IMF is trying to raise SDR's prominence--make it tradeable, convertible. Selling gold for SDRs is one such step. Issuing bonds in SDRs--as it has done recently, bought by Brazil--is another such step.

Eventually, the IMF would love to become the world's fiat currency issuer, and charge small countries interest on extending SDR credits.

Now that the dollar is weak, international bankers want a piece of the US banking system's action. They want to be able to monetize promissory notes by countries and charge interest...be able to grow SDR credits, blow bubbles in the world, then foreclose on countries the way the Fed + US banking system have done to Americans.
