At least the "other" Columbia Bank hasn't had to issue one of these:

I feel fairly certain that the FDIC, the Fed, and state bank regulators would require swift action (as they have for some others) if the bank's condition is likely to seriously deteriorate more than it already has. If that is the case, the forbearance offers the bank time to recover on its own (10% chance, IMO), obtain more favorable terms for a buyout (30%) or obtain additional capital with minimal dilution (60%). In any case that's good for shareholders and for the local communities. Good luck to all. Interesting times, indeed. Rating :
