I think the original message had it backwards. Actually, Chevy Chase is looking at CITI. But CITI has too much in naked short and FTD liabilities to cover from NITE Securities, and Chevy Chase probably will dump the takeover idea of CITI, in favor of a better-grounded bank.

I'm looking for MAJOR disgorgement by the SEC, before CITI gets sliced and diced, a la BSC. Tomorrow's Friday, and the Fed, Treasury, and SEC like to do their dirty work over the weekend. POOF-gone in 90 hours!
