The Droid is Motorola's Android phone. How does this benefit Techfaith? Techfaith has only announced Android 1.0 devices so far. I hope they can announce an Android 2.0 device soon. While it would be great if Techfaith benefited directly by any success of Motorola's Droid phone, I think its pure wishful thinking. I think Techfaith will need to get an Android 2.0 device out under the QIGI name that is as good or better than the Droid phone to have any hope of selling Android phones outside of China. They should have an easier time selling in China since they can soup up their phones with their games and proprietary chinese language software and gain favor with Chinese consumers who prefer to buy homegrown products (like those who are loyal to Baidu over Google).
