I worked for Chemtura in Sales from 2006 until a few months ago.I have never posted on this board but I have always enjoyed this message board(until recently).

It always amazed me how bobblehead Bob could outright lie on the calls and the market seemed to buy it, but the message board regulars always knew the deal. When the pig was unmasked and Bob was finally shown the door I was surprised by the lack of outcry by the shareholders with demands of actual change from the BOD. Actually of all the public companies I have worked for this one was the only one that refrained from using the phrase " we work to increase the shareholders wealth, (which will ultimately increase our wealth and worth.)" I once met Bobblehead who seemed more impressed by his own knowledge than finding out what was great and what was holding the company back. Because the craziest thing about this company is the customers love the products that we sold but hated the company they had to buy the products from. I never heard 1 bad word about the quality or effectiveness of the products sold, only that they wished we would be bought by a company that would earn their business. My final year sales were $10 million but those customers were finally told they needed to find another supplier because there are different customers and segments we would like to pursue. Unfortunately Chemtura could not find replacement customers in other segments but had already blown up the bridges and made it impossible to go back.

It was unfortunate that a decline in the rest of the finacial world masked the incompetence of the management and the poor decisions that they made. Today, it is easy to assign economic times as the only cause and the poor management go on to other companies and wreck others careers and cost other stockholders greater sums.

Sorry so long but that felt great to finally get off my chest and needed to be said long before today.
