On Apr 29, goofball danceswithcandles writes:
"Overall, we're seeing many successful breakouts, with many of those moving into or off the 200dma. BJRI hits stiff resistance in the 18's. Overall, I feel we may be setting up for a pullback from these levels by options expiration in May, in this stock and in the markets in general. Shorter term shorts in the 18-19 range in this stock should do well. I don't see 11's for this stock any time soon, as one poster mentioned. S1 = 15, S2=14, S3=13.....Nice, whole numbers. Read the chart." And then on Aug 10 he writes: "Help me out here a little. Just what is it you see in the chart? Which chart (timeframe.) I see a failed H&S from late May. I see range-bound activity since that time, with a modest upside bias. While price has been holding the 50 dma of late, it is still bound by 14-18. Upside b/o is slightly favored, but range-bound activity suggests an alternative strategy -- like writing spreads at the extremes of range, if you can get filled. (assumes one has a position and is willing to sell high / buy low.) " Now, eight months later, looking at the longer term weekly....this has been a pretty "lucky" forecast for BJRI. All the while, banking on staying in the 14-18 range, have been selling puts at the low end and selling calls at the high end. Sorry for you guys who have been buying them. It will end. In fact, I suspect this range bound trading in BJRI may end soon...just b/c it has gone on for eight months now. But it sure has been good, owning a basic (large) position and taking in a lot of premium by selling puts and calls. Overall, I've lost a little stock on the call end...but was way too heavy in the position anyway, so not worried too much about that...though it would not surprise to see it break to the upside. So what do I forecast from here? I knew you'd be asking that. I'm not going to jinx it just yet by making a forecast....need to get back more to trading as the winter season comes on (tis the season to trade, you know...) Once I have a chance to review and study the charts, will come back (when you least expect it) and give you a forecast. For what the frick it's worth to anyone. : / Good luck all. "Trading is hard."
