This how BAC CEO Lewis described the BAC acquisition of Merrill. During his CNBC interview, Mr. Lewis stated that it would be increasingly difficult for smaller banks to compete with the larger banks. When asked about the future of the approximately 9500 banks in this country, he stated that that number will be reduced to 4000.
