I have a very rich life, thank you very much, and I have made it even richer by informing unsuspecting potential Bassett customers of the shady business practices of some of Bassett's licensees and Bassett corporate's unwillingness to stand behind the furniture that they put their name on. I have nothing against the people in China that make most of Bassett's furniture. I'm sure they are as dedicated as they can be, even though they get paid a fraction of what American workers get paid. It just seems unfair that some customers are told that their furniture will be custom made for them in Virginia and then arrives in a box marked, "Made in China". It also seems unfair that even though they are paying for brand new furniture, some Bassett customers receive damaged furniture and are not allowed to return it, but have to wait for a repair person to come to their house and assess it, and all the while, Bassett gets to keep their hard-earned money. Bassett customers are, I am sure, just as dedicated at working their jobs as Bassett employees are, but for some reason, it's okay to screw them out of their money? That doesn't seem right to me, but maybe it does to you.
