Recently my local store was closed down and Bassett had a store closure sale. I had previously bought furniture from them and needed a sofa. I went to the store and found a couch that was marked down and purchased it. When I got it home I discovered that it was full of animal hairs which I later found out were from dogs and the couch was a used couch from someone's home. Also, the couch had spots on it that I thought was from sitting on the store floor, but I learned later was from poor cleaning by Bassett and the couch had come in from their outlet center. I told Bassett I wanted to return the couch as I had no idea it was a used couch and didn't expect to buy a used couch from a new furniture store. They have refused to take it back. Can someone tell me what I should do? Don't buy furniture from Bassett. Is it even legal to sell a used couch in a new furniture store?
