In stark contrast to the Burst expert witness, what did we have on the Apple side? YOU TELL ME! I was in the courtroom, and can't tell you a thing about Mr. Joel Halpern. He sat slumped in his chair. (In my mother's terms: "He was like a bump on a log!") Did not stand up when Powers got around to mentioning his name, BECAUSE POWERS DID NOT INTRODUCE HIM! All Powers said was, "I'll be giving the presentation for Apple today, and if I stumble and need any help, I'll call on my "safety net," Mr. Joel Halpern, our expert witness." Then he glanced in Halpern's direction. That was it. AMAZING! He didn't introduce him. HOW COULD HE? Coming after Dr. Hemami's introduction by Parker Folse, and her presentation! This guy would look like a fool by comparison!

NOTE: The term "coding" is used in the profession, Dr. Hemami said, to mean "encoding" or "COMPRESSION." "They are general words used to express many different functions," she said.

(COMMENT: Maybe we should put that in writing for Powers and J. Patel, so they know that some terms in the EE profession have more than one definition or meaning. I believe that also applies to the meaning of "temporal or time compression," (as recognized by J. Motz) and other terms that Apple wants to restrict in meaning to serve its own purpose.)

Take a moment. Scan through that list of articles she was written. You will see such subjects as:

I could go on and on. But you get the point. Dr. Hemami knows what she is talking about when it come to EVERY, and I mean EVERY, technical concept in the Burst patents! Analog waveforms, digitization, compression of every type , "temporal" or time-based scalability coding or compression techniques, low bit rate video, MPEG video streams for robust transmission, etc., etc.
