Great thread and I agree. Here is my interest conflicted, inexpert take.

The only way Apple can escape this fiasco in the making is to go for the knock out "time compression" punch. They know they can win on everything else and will still loose hugely because the use of data compression is such an absolute core of IPOD and ITUNES.

This sounds like a high risk strategy, but in fact it is the only strategy they can pursue to avoid a monstrously adverse outcome. This is why they are pushing forward against all logic, reason, and Justice Motz's prior Order. This is why they are burying the court with reams of irrelevant and obfuscating paper.This is why they cherry picked an "expert" who apparently knows even less this this idiot crackpot currently typing away about the difference between what the Burst patent correctly claims and what Apple is falsely alleging it claims. Their expert is so bad even the taciturn Ms. Hemani said:

"...I believe that his level of familiarity with compression is perhaps a bit on the low side ...."
