The purchase of BNI may be a folly that bring the demise of Berksshire. Initial reaction is that Berkshire credit rating goes down a notch. The price assets of Berkshire (dollars) is at a level that adds risk to the company. Should the economy do a double dip, Berkshire is vulnerable. Berkshire carries a lot of CDS. Lower credit rating results in higher cost of money.
