Badger Meter Q2 results lower than expected

July 16 (Reuters) - Badger Meter Inc (BMI.N), a maker of flow measurement
products, reported a quarterly profit that fell short of expectations, hurt by
lower sales as customers ((((delayed purchasing decisions.)))))

Case in point this below news from (POM)...shows that companies are just
starting to apply for aly energy/smart grid funds. (POM is one of the first to
get started)...this smart grid trade ain't ready yet and the stocks are toppy
here.

I've been kick-en around for about a week now, starting a short position via
some puts in Badger Meter Inc. (BMI). I am running short on time in my mind.
They report next week. I think it was bidded up on stimulus and the S&P and
Russel re-balancing. It is up over 100% off bottom. It is hard to get a gage on
the earnings #, because I am not sure any of the Obama clean energy stimulus
money has filtered through to their bottom line just yet. They are a direct
play
on the revamping of USA infrastructure and the smart grid play. Them and Itron
(ITRI). With their advanced automatic meter reading technology. Frankly, them
two companies would make a great merger in the industry. And both would make a
great acquisition by a GE or even IBM or a far fetched GOOGLE someday. Badger
Meter Inc does NOT do electrical/power consumption metering....ITRON does just
that...lol
