BHB will hold a special shareholders' meeting on December 22, 2008 in Bar Harbor.


Shareholders of record as of the close of business on November 20, 2008 will be entitled to vote.
So states the recent preliminary proxy filed with the SEC.

The purpose is to authorize 1,000,000 in preferred shares.

It appears that BHB might be trying for some of the bail out money.

If that is the case then BHB is not as healthy as they would have you believe.

Also, if this is true don't expect any dividend increases in the near future.
