Prolia to cost $1k annual. Epogen $6k annual.

<<My friend, you simply don't understand the relevant factors impacting profit margin in the biopharmaceutical space.

Both Epogen and Aranesp are dosed in MICROGRAM quantities! The costs of manufacturing (including fill and finish) for Aranesp amount to 4% of the cost of goods sold and for Epogen 5% of COGS. The vial holding the drug costs more to make than the drug it contains in both cases.>>

HMMMMM,$6k annual for Epogen and the empty vials cost more than the contained medication? Gee, I hope they recycle them to save some cost.

I guess if Prolia is going to be $1k annual, with a 90% mark up, the medication in that syringe will cost less than the needle that's delivering it.

Thanks Biotecherr.
