According to Altera, the company unveiled its 40G and 100G solutions for applications such as OTU-3, OTU-4, 40G and 100G Ethernet, Interlaken, mobile backhaul and Next-Generation PON (NGPON). Altera's 40G and 100G solutions include its 40-nm Stratix IV FPGAs, featuring integrated transceivers operating up to 11.3 Gbps, intellectual property (IP), reference designs and development boards.

Altera's 40G and 100G solution demonstrations at Supercomm included:

- 40G packet-processing reference design

- 10 x 10G Ethernet to 100G Interlaken bridge

- 40G OTU with EFEC

- 100G Ethernet and 100G OTN4

- Mobile backhaul with synchronous Ethernet

- IP-DSLAM with VDSL bonding
