"General Motors Co. could tap some of the $50 billion in aid it has received from the U.S. government to help finance its plan to restructure its European Opel unit, GM's top executive said Thursday."

Looks like the GM bailout is turning into a modern day Marshall Plan (or maybe an Obama plan?).

It's hard to see where there will be any winners in this; the biggest losers would appear to be 1) U.S. taxpayers and 2) current Opel employees.
