There should be no re-vote however; any re-vote, if any for New Penn should constitute a re-vote for the whole company. Under no circumstances should New Penn be held to a set of standards different to the standards of the rest of the group. New Penn voted no so close them down rather than threaten them. Truth is YRCW can't and will not close New Penn so it has nothing to lose by announcing a ridiculous re-vote. If New Penn's employees can stand up and adhere to the "New Penn Proud" philosophy embedded in its culture since day one they will prevail and send a message to all parties including the union. Go ahead, close New Penn down and you can be assured the whole organization will tumble. Don't sell New Penn as they will crush YRCW in the marektplace from every angle. People don't realize that New Penn is in charge here NOT YRCW! A re-vote is the most insane thing I've ever heard of, used to play those games in elementary school with the nuns. The vote should stand as no especially since New Penn is still the gold standard of profitably trucking companies and can pay their own bills. Aren't they supposed to be separate, hence, the vote? Hey Steve Gast, wake up and support your employees with the "New Penn Proud" stuff you preach in your newsletters. It may not help your six figure salary but may save your organization. Drastic top-end leadership is needed Gast and now is the time your company needs you the most. Don't try to brainwash the sheep and your employees next week with all the treats from Zollers. Stand up to him Gast for the sake of your company if you have any balls. Instead, next week you should be coaching, guiding, leading and motivating your employees to stand tall and believe in themselves, what they've worked very hard for and what it means to be "New Penn Proud". If they close New Penn, we will still walk out with our heads high and look back at this terrible organization we are part of a year from now (if the movie isn't over by then) and say "it's the best thing that ever happened to me". Change can be difficult but in the long-run it is healthy and good. New Penn employees, realize there is life after New Penn. Don't be pushed around like a rag by Zollers or even your president. You must understand you are in charge here and are holding all the cards. Believe in yourselves and vote with your heart not your wallet. The former is what will prevail and ultimately give you the respect you deserve and are worth.
