I worked there and it depends on what you want out of a job and also where within the company you work. They pay well, have decent benefits, but it's impossible to get anything done due to bureaucracy. It's also frustrating that just about every employee realizes the stupid decisions the senior management makes, but they continue to make them. It reminded me of cool hand luke, "Dig this hole. Yes sir... why is this hole here, you better get it filled. Yes sir.... Why do you have all your dirt in the captains hole, you better get it out. Yes sir. etc, etc." A great example is their instrument business. They bought the company in Bedford Mass, moved it to Sacramento, and then closed it down and outsourced it again, all within a few years.

Many of the people there are completely incompetent, and many of the competent ones have checked out due to their frustration. That being said there are some very sharp, good people there, but they are in the minority, or it could just be that the completely inept ones just seem more numerous. Many people are just out of their element. They hire a lot out of semiconductor, because that is what their chip technology is based on. Anyway... that's just my opinion and synopsis...although I was given much the same warnings before I went there.
