Heard on the news... Guess what the majority of AET's earnings came from? You would think AET's profit would come from normal insurance channels. Nope... IT WAS TRADING IN STOCKS, COMMODITIES AND OTHER FINANCIAL INSTRUMENTS... just like what brought down AIG when the BETS went bad.. IMHO.

It seems as though more and more companies that are beating earning estimates are doing so through gambling in the stock market, not through their normal busines activities.

This happened in thge 2000 bubble. Back then, companies included stock gains in their 'earnings' but when things went bad, they exlcuded the loss as a one-time event. History is reapeating itself.

Hey Bernake, better start printing more bailout money! One year after the financial crisis, bernake has a solid plan on how to 'bail out' companies, but STILL CAN"T ADDREESS TOO BIG TO FAIL. It is probably much easier for ben to print money and reward reckless behavior... ben is our hero! Well until he causes a collapse in the US dollar.
