: AERT - Watts, OK plastic recycling plant set to commence operations in Sept 2009 - part 2 19-May-09 03:46 pm Aert has been processing plastic at their Lowell, AR plant, similar to Trex and others, but the Watts, OK plant is very different. Sounds like 'same same', but its not. The devil is in the details of the processing.

Aert's Watts plant is going to be able use the stuff that nobody else wants, with a patented process that nobody else has. Search the patent sites for "brooks' AND "advanced environmental.." to see more of the details

As plastic prices head back up with increasing oil prices as the economy begins to recover, aert will be able to acquire their plastic component materials for extrusion of decking, exterior house trim, and fencing at 25¢-35¢ on the $1.00.

Much cheaper than Trex or anybody else can reclaim it at. Aert's margins will open up in the decking business, and the excess cheap plastic that they don't use for decking will be a Very profitable new revenue stream.

The gap between Trex's higher prices and ChoiceDek lower prices at Lowes will widen even more. Also watch for a new Aert decking product that will have an even bigger edge over Trex.

This deal is definitely apples to oranges...
