the $25M debt could have been paid off at year end. they had $50 million in the bank, so the debt concern is moot.

this is so sad to read. when a company acquires another company (by the way, it is "Tamale Software", not "Tomali"), purchase accounting regulations require the associated deferred revenue to be wiped off the balance sheet. in other words, companies are not allowed to "buy" deferred revenue. therefore, the growth in deferred revenue in the fourth quarter belongs to and was generated by advent software.
