I read on this board someone saying South FL is eating up too much of the profits. Let's look at it. I am not a pro at this so any added ideas/info is greatly welcome. I am looking at from brokerage/3pl stand point.
180 mil in sales
18% gross margins(customer rate-carrier rate) 32 million in gross margins. Give 55-60% to agents that produce the biz. 19.2 mil to agents. 12.8 million to home office salaries/insurance/travel/technology/etc.
let's say 2% of sales bad debt/collections 3.6 million. But 60% of that goes back to agents.
12.8 million with 18% margins heading to south FL. Would also be nice to know how fast the bills are getting turned. Is there a group in FL always calling for carrier PODs? Can the quick pay % be raised to carriers? I really think if the right group got in FL this could turn into a cash machine. Not a personal piggy bank.
