10Q gives an encouraging result, to wit:

Premium earned was about $70 million, below last year but still decent for the economy we are in. Amount of premium is not nearly as important as profitable underwriting.

Pretax earning of $14.9 million consisted two part. Realized investment income was about $7.4 million which is about 3.6% annualized on a $800+ million portfolio. Not bad for the market we are in. (Equity was only a small part of the investment. That helps.)
Underwriting gain was $7.5 million, of which 1.5 million was from loss reserve adjustment of $1.2 million and a 0.3 million gain of termination of treaty. Excluding such, underwriting gain was about $6.1 million, or about 8.7% of premium earned. On that basis, combined ratio is about 91%, still far above peers. Underwriting is very disciplined.

Too, number of open claims were reduced by about 10%. What's underneath is a very aggressive claim management.

I would think a gradual expansion on equity investment may be beneficial, but that has to be balanced with maturity of claims, matter we are not privy to.

All and all, I am happy with the results.
