RF ablation for the lining of the tracheobronchial tree?     29-Oct-09 10:49 am
NOW THAT DOES SOUND DANGEROUS!

The FDA just approved RF ablation for asthma.
If they denature the protein in some of that tracheal cartilage and get collapse of the airway THEY WILL HAVE SERIOUS COMPLICATIONS.

WOULDN'T IT BE BETTER TO APPROVE ELECTROPORATION FOR THAT?

Then they wouldn't have to worry about the mechanical supports for the airway melting away into jelly and plugging the airway completely.

That is why I say the prejudice against NEW THINGS and the assumption that "older is safer" IS A HORRIBLE GUIDING PHILOSOPHY FO FOLLOW IN AN AGE OF RAPID TECHNOLOGICAL ADVANCEMENT.
THAT PHILOSOPHY IS KILLING HEALTHCARE IN THIS COUNTRY.
