All you have to read is very early in this article. Rather than present logic and facts the guy throws out a personal attack which shows his bias. He must have some skin in the game somehow, and its getting dragged behind the Atheros horse at the moment. If he or someone he's shilling for isn't being hurt by Atheros' impressive numbers, why the personal attack? Example from his article:
"Notwithstanding the challenging economic environment worldwide, Craig Barratt, president and chief executive officer, boasted in the third-quarter earnings release that the strength and diversity of the company’s products enabled Atheros to achieve record top and bottom-line results. Unfortunately, in my opinion, Barratt’s comments spoke more to his magniloquence and hubris, and less to actual results."

Magniloquence and hubris? Did his momma get him a new thesaurus for his birthday? Does he even know what it means?
Magniloquence: Lofty and extravagant in speech; grandiloquent.

Hubris: Overbearing pride or presumption; arrogance

OK who can direct me to the part of the conference call which remotely fits either of those definitions?

Come on now find me some overbearing pride and arrogance served up with grandiloquence. Not there. Confidence served up with class is more like it, and this writer whose name I haven't bothered to remember demonstrates his biased position right off the bat. This guy isn't offering an honest opinion but rather trying to find a way to turn a silk purse into a sow's ear.
Altogether, I find his adumbrations duplicitous!
