Rumor making its rounds in U.S. that Astrazeneca PLC ADS thought to be making a partnership for Dendreon Corp (Seattle, WA based biotech) will bid for acquire the company instead. Dendreon Corp. has a promising drug (Provenge) for prostate cancer in a Phase III trial that could be approved by the FDA as early as January 2010. Rumors are usually just that... rumors, but from today's WSJ a lot of the pharms are eager to buy up promising biotechs.
