Well, one thing for sure is you never lack for detail when Astronics reports. Lots of info, both pluses and minuses.

Yes it's a mixed bag. Paying down debt. Building cash with positive cash flow. Attractively low stock price. Investing quite heavily in the future. On the other side there's DME. (I think the previous owner took us for a bit of a ride.) The Dems killed business jets. Boeing can't get out of it's own way. Neither can Airbus. Country still in a deep recession despite Wall Street spin to the contrary. So....pessimistic Pete says slightly lower earnings for 2010 with no turnaround in aerospace until 2011.

I'd love to know what else to invest in. Wall Street remains a casino. Everyone seems to have one foot out the door. My cash, which earns about a quarter of a percent, is in US dollars. The dollar has declined roughly 20% this year vs. other major currencies. Not a great feeling.

Unless things get worse than predicted, probably add to my Astronics position over the next year, especially if it remains low or goes down from here. At least I think I understand it. Oh well..........
