T.O is high because it is an incredible difficult sale, where one has to justify an intangible, non essential need, with little ability to quantify a ROI. It doesnt' help that ASF's margins are significantly higher than that of the next closest competitor.
Asf clients certainly renew but the fallout each year is extremely high. When the competition get's wind that someone is with ASF they are generally able to win them over. People leave ASF because when they join they have NO clue as to the amount of prospecting that will be required and expected of them to make things happen. Imagine, amongst all other things that you have to learn and contend with that you have to make somewhere around 250 COLD calls per week! Best leads are given to those who have been around for a while. So a newbie really has a BIG uphill mountain to climb in their first 12 months.. 350-375 sales reps at any given time....sadly there are about 10-20% who are writing all of the business. The others just turn and burn every year. Easily 60% of those who attend conference every year have been there less than a year. Sales tells the story that clients can expect to believe that by joining the ASF medical pool that they will save dollars year after year on their medical premiums. Of course in addition they get a full offsite HR depart. What they don't tell them is that in their first year renewal their premiums will by default go up 15% or so. Depending on who you are working for greatly influences you likely hood of success at ASF. There are those Mgrs who are golden and then there's everyone else. If you are with one of the golden boys, then be prepared to have to insert your head just as far up those at the tops butts as they have there own. If you don't you will be gone. Management means well but at the end of the day if far removed from the reality of what it takes to be competitive in the marketplace and seems indifference to the very high T.O. Rating :
