Illumina missed upwardly revised estimates do to what they see as sluggish gene sequencing market overall but they did point out that they sold a record number of the new genome analyzers which is a combination work with agilent and its targeting software. They also mentioned the fact that most NIH funding and stimulus money has yet to reach sales but saw increased stimulus funded sales in the month of september.
