- The insider trading probe should be a non-issue. No one at 3com is being pursued as of now. The people arrested bought 3com on inormation they received before Bain made their bid for the company 2 years ago. For all we know, Bain insiders tipped them off. This is the more likely scenario as Bain is an active aquiring company that someone would approach to learn of their next move.
