I actually find that quite funny, since anyone who should be investing in mutual funds should know this *before* they invest, and should have read the prospectus (which probably says this).

I find it typical of the "average American" these days, too lazy to actually do research before investing. @#$%, I had a woman asking me a while back what I thought of her IRA investment (through a broker) - a high-yield bond fund with a 4.5% front end load (you lost 4.5% as soon as they got the check - take a year to make that up), like 2.5% in management fees... to me, a bad choice.. to her, as I tried to explain why, "I don't really want to know, or learn, its too complicated".
