Yeah, but if you want those goods made in the emerging markets to be purchased by the largest consuming nation, then you want the US dollar to strengthen. If those other currencies all stay strong against the dollar (relatively), then it is far harder for them to sell their products here. Export to America is still the name of the game for many emerging markets. Now, that might change after this crisis, but until we have a new paradigm, it makes little sense to discount what brought you here.
