I'd like to get into a large cap mutual fund that offers a flow of dividends... I'm tired of making 1.5% in online savings.
This fund is up about 25% from its low in March and is priced just above $12. Is this too high? Where does everyone see this going in the next 2 to 5 years???

seems low, but look at its holdings...slow and steady companies..like JNJ, ABT...all companies with very strong financial positions. I dont know if you have noticed, but big run ups on most stocks appear to be short covering, ..the companies this fund hold dont move much because they are solid and dont have much short interest..so in the long run..a core holding for me...I have better things to do than look at the financial markets every day..not what life is all about.
Good luck all..no worries

this fund is not intended to feature high dividend paying stocks. It seeks companies that have steady dividend growth. The dividend can be modest, but it is the steady growth that is sought. Why? These companies are primarily growth companies, not income companies. A steadily rising dividend is a terrific indicator of a financially strong company. If you screen for long term dividend growth, you weed out all shaky companies. If you want a high yield mutual fund, look at Vanguard High Yield.
