as noted by others, the price drop reflects LT & ST cap. gains , with a dividend distribution to follow asround 12/27

the problem is you didn't know about the distributions,which lower the price of the shares proportionately. neither did i. last year, (and as i recall- all previous years) shareholders received a letter detailing approximate LT/ST cap. gains around the end of november. that did not happen this year, at least i did not get a letter. the information was also available on the web site in the past.
i am a freqent visitor to the usaa site, and did not find any information on mutual fund distributions, even when particularly looking for it.
i'm sorry to say that usaa "dropped the ball" this time around, causing much angst among us shareholders. i doubt if they will make the same mistake again.
