"buying in for safety"???

This is a mutual fund.
It's full of public G.O., public project, highway, etc. bonds.
You don't buy this thing for safety.
What are you thinking?

USAA has a couple of US Governement backed funds.
USGNX and UATXX
And even these aren't very safe because you don't really own the instrument that is guaranteed by the US Government.
USAA does.
You own a piece of a mutual fund which is only as good as USAA's word.
Which, please believe me when I tell you, is not very good.
