This recession is not near a bottom.
If you look at charts for DOW, 21 years ago the DOW was at 2,000.
Not that long ago. I called 7,000 when we had a false rally up to 9300.
My belief was all bets were off if we go below 7,000. We have. Laugh all you like but cringe when we head towards 2,000.
Capitulation must happen, until 401s etc stop funneling money into these indices ( and artificially propping them up )market goes down.
Thank God I got out of this fund in first qt. of 2006, after it went up 10 %. Year early, I agree, but not Late.
Just one person's take on this Horror Show ( and no one has gone to Jail? ).

I can direct you to the fidleity web site to compare funds. You don't have to be a account holder to access this.

Go to www.fidelity.com, click on 'research', then 'mutual funds'. on the left, down the middle there is a box. You can enter fund symbols up to five, then click compare.

You can get lots of info about the fund from this yahoo site.

On the fund quote, click on profile - it will tell you about this fund.

Click on 'holdings' - it will give you the 10 largest holdings -stocks or mutual funds. So you can see if they overlap.

Yes I agree, I have been learning a lot just reading the messages.

I have several T. Rowe funds. I tend to always go over board when I get interested in anything.

So, I have yet to figure out how I can tell if I have a lot of overlap. Would you mind looking them over and see if I did over do it? Or is this a good mix?

My funds are: PRMTX PRLAX PRNHX TRMCX TRRBX and FBALX

I know that in the TRRBX holds the PRNHX but before I bought it I called T. Rowe and asked what the % it held, he said 1. something %.
Thanks

Let me correct what I said.

My 11,000 in 1993 have grown to 76,000, but I moveed 5,000 to another fund last year. It woould have grown to 81,000 for certain.

The New Horizons fund was in the decades before 2000, the best known small cap growth fund, considered a benchmark in that category. It is still rated 4 stars by Morningstar.

Small cap funds seem to have lost some of their edge, however.

So, you finally got a response.

This is one of the funds I have held in a 401 (k) since the early 1990s.

It is a great small cap growth fund. It is rated 4 stars.
I contributed a total of 11,000 to it and then stopped in 1993, when I left the company.

I have now retired and rolled over the fund to an IRA. It has grown to 77,000. I think that should be good - don't know how it compares with some of the other great funds.

Small cap growth funds are not doing as well now. I might shift some money to other funds, but will hold the majority of the shares. Now let' hear from the others.

not sure about this fund. index out performs in the short run. run appears to have good divided pay out. this one i will definetly have to think about before buying in. i do like how i does have more growth aspect than the index though.
