As of now it has a 3.32% yield. Big deal. The only way i can see this being worthwhile is if the dollar keeps falling. So if you buy this fund all you really are doing is "hoping" that the dollar keeps falling as it has long term. However the US dollar has not been falling in the near term, but gaining. As well, gold has been falling off of a cliff for at least a month. That means at least some of the gold bears think the US dollar will strengthen. Do you really want to risk that for a 3% yield? Not me. Why not look at closed end fund EDF which is yielding 9%, at least. If you want a play on the declining dollar , why not just buy foreign stocks that have much better yields than this anyway. One might be NZT. If I can be of help to anyone, e-mail me at my yahoo address.
