The Fund is up some 25% this year and hasn't slowed much with a bill as close to passage as now. My guess is that hmo's will go down but not alarmingly, drug and device companies will go up, volume of business will trump any price control schemes. I've been in this fund since '99 and its been my most stable investment. This field is solid though I'd let the professionals do the stock picking.

I'm in this fund because I think heath care companies will do well as baby boomers age. But I wonder if we will get any significant movement if the health care plan being pushed by Congress is defeated? On the other side of the coin if the plan goes through will PRHSX go down much?

In for the long haul, but wondering what will happen short term?

Tough to say. I bought this thing twice. Once at last year's peak, and once last March at the bottom. I'm pretty much right back to even. Trying to decide if I want to cash some in or wait for the dividend in 3 months. With the gain nearly 25% since last December, what do you suppose the dividend payout to be? It may be worth it to hold on, no?

PRHSX has a top-to-bottom drop of -34.34%, vs. -26.6% for FSMEX. Probably because FSMEX does not own pharma or HMOs. Still monitoring PRHSX for purchase, but I trust FSMEX more in downturns. In 2002 PRHSX lost -27.7%, FSMEX lost only -6.24%
Because we just spent $700 billion on the economic package, the money will not be there to do major changes to our health care system right away. Congress might want to change our health care system, but they've got their hands too full with the economy right now.

This is a great defensive play for our pending recession. I feel that this is a good capitol preservation play for the next 6-18 months. This fund should keep you in the game until the fog clears.

The general public has many options on things such as wether to take a vacation ect. but there not going to take chances with their healthcare.

Keep in mind, this is a sector play so ther are more risks and upside potentail as well.

Prior to capitol gains and Div distributions, this fund was doing well. The fund still does well on down days for the general market.
