It's also annoying it could not have been switched 1:1. It's close, but not close enough that I won't have to refigure my cost basis all over the place. And that is annoying.

Thank you for this info. I agree - - Schwab should have informed us. I hold SWPIX in a fund administered by Schwab itself, so they have no excuses for doing this without warning. It may have no investment impact, but they know full well people want to keep track of daily values.

Agreed. I hold it in my 401k and only found out when I logged into my website. It doesn't appear any value was lost but still lame they did not notify anyone. :(

Thank you for the tip. I was wondering the same thing why this fund has not quoted for nearly a week. Some sort of an announcement would have been nice instead of a stalled quote. Especially for an SP500 index fund.

After not getting a quote for several days, I called Schwab and was told the fund had “closed” in preparation for being folded into SWPPX, another S&P 500 fund. The conversion will be one SWPIX share for .9968716 shares of SWPPX.

Am I being picky when I think Schwab should have alerted its customers and share owners?

Because this is a loser. This market is very strange. I have other funds that take very little downturn to drop significately but a lot of upturn to go up very little.
