It appears that the mark to market accounting issue will be discussed on March 12th. The House financial services subcommittee plans a hearing on mark-to-market accounting rules, which have been blamed for forcing banks to report billions of dollars in write-downs. Najarian on Fast Money feels that if there appears to be any potential to ease the rule from this meeting that the financials could go up substantially. I am in the process of moving my 401K account over into a self directed brokerage account and hope to throw some of it down on this if allowed to. While I do not feel comfortable with the low stock price, in my opinion the market should begin to level off soon (another 500-700pts). Let the discussions begin........anyone!?
