Buyer beware. This fund is the worst of all worlds. Expensive with front end load, little commodity exposure, and dreadful risk/reward. Get out of this fund immediately!

PIMCO is all about past performance and their relationship with the government now.

The fund's commodity exposure is leveraged trough purchases of derivatives (options, futures, etc.). Therefore, the fund holds a large amount of cash reserves. It parks that money in inflation protected government investments and other corporate debentures, which show up as the largest holdings.

I am with you! What is the right way to get into a commodities fund. Morningstar gives a "low" return rating for this fund. It really fluctuates when the price of oil goes up or down. Merrill Lynch advosir says stay.

RUN LIKE HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

PIMCO SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

I was steered toward Pimco Innovation many years ago by Dain Rat-catcher and trying looking for that fund today. You won't find it cause it went belly up and is now dead.

Dennis McKechnie is another person you won't find. He ran many PIMCO funds in the TECH sector and was the go to guy on business shows when they wanted to know what was going on in Technology.

Where is he today? Well, I hope he is with Jimmy Hoffa or had the good sense to blow his own brains out after he crashed all of his funds into the side of a mountain Patsy Cline style.

Avoid PIMCO and Dain Rat-catcher of Canada. They both suck!

Someone please give me a good reason to stay in this type of fund. I read the profile and it seems like they have some confusing business model. I'm not a finance major but WTF? Can anyone explain in layman's terms what they do and why all the volatility?
